IDescription

During these 3-days Merzouga desert excursion, our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech. for an adventure through the magnificent Atlas Mountains and the Tichka Pass (2260 m), offering an impressive landscape in the heart of the Atlas range. We will stop at the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, one of the most spectacular fortresses in the south of Morocco and a site declared by UNESCO World Heritage.

 

Day 1: Marrakech. Dades Gorges

  • 07:30 a.m.: Departure to the Dadès Gorges by bus with the group (330 km) crossing the Tizin Tichka pass (2260 m)

  • Stop in Ouarzazate, a dynamic city known for its impressive views of kasbahs and film studios, the reason why it is often nicknamed the "Hollywood of Morocco", to visit the magnificent Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, which served as the setting for many many famous films. 

  • Leaving Ouarzazate, you will begin by crossing the spectacular Dadès Valley, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, with deep gorges and impressive rock formations. The road continues through the High Atlas Mountains, offering grandiose panoramas of Kelaa de Mgouna, the Valley of Roses... and the surrounding peaks. 

  • Arrival at the Dadès Gorges 

  • Check-in at your Hostel “Dar Essyaha (or similar)”

  • Dinner and Overnight at your Inn “Dar Essyaha (or similar)”

Day 2: Dades Gorges. Merzouga

  • Breakfast at your Inn “Dar Essyaha (or similar)”

  • Departure to Merzouga by bus with the group (265 km) passing through the valley of a thousand kasbahs

  • Here begins the adventure of Great Dunes of Erg Chebbi crossing Tinghir, the gorges of Todgha, Rissani, Erfoud then the oasis of Tafilalet

  • As you approach Merzouga, the landscape slowly transforms into a vast expanse of golden sand. The contrast between the green mountains and the sand dunes is spectacular. 

  • Arrival in Merzouga, known for one of the most emblematic landscapes of the Sahara

  • Check-in at your Camp “Sandfish/Ksar Bicha (or similar)”

  • Camel expedition to discover the beauty of the most beautiful sand dunes at sunset

  • Dinner & Night at your Bivouac (Comfort OR Deluxe) under the stars in Merzouga

Day 3: Merzouga. Marrakech

  • Breakfast at your Bivouac while enjoying the sunrise over the dunes

  • Departure to Marrakech by bus with the group (560 km) crossing the High Atlas, a winding road with spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

  • Gradual descent towards Marrakech, passing through picturesque Berber villages clinging to the sides of the mountains

  • Arrival in Marrakech

THE WEATHER IN MARRAKECH IN OCTOBER

In general, the weather in Marrakech in October and November is pleasant, with moderate temperatures and plenty of sunshine. Here's what you can expect for these two months:

 

​October: Daytime temperatures are around 25-30°C, with cooler nights around 15-18°C. It is a dry month with little precipitation, ideal for outdoor activities.

November: Temperatures start to drop, but still remain pleasant during the day, around 20-25°C, while nights can drop to 10-13°C. Precipitation remains rare, but there could be a few days of rain towards the end of the month.

This is an ideal time to visit Marrakech, as the summer heat has dissipated and the climate is comfortable for exploring the city and its surroundings.
